A Message from the Principal

Welcome to P.S./M.S. 124 Osmond A. Church School

It is an honor to serve as Principal of P.S./M.S. 124, a school with a rich history, strong traditions, and a community devoted to its children. As we honor the legacy that has shaped our school, we also look forward with purpose, continually asking how we can create even greater opportunities for every student entrusted to our care.

At P.S./M.S. 124, we believe every child deserves to be known, valued, challenged, and supported. We want our students to know, without question: You matter here. We believe in you. And we expect great things from you.

One of the greatest strengths of our K–8 community is the opportunity to grow alongside our children. From the kindergartener learning to navigate a new classroom to the eighth grader preparing to step beyond our doors, we have the privilege of helping shape nine important years of a child’s life.

Our classrooms are places where students are doing intellectual work: asking questions, exchanging ideas, solving problems, thinking critically, and making connections to the world around them. We want our students to achieve academically, but our responsibility does not end there. We are committed to educating the whole child, helping students discover their talents, build confidence, develop meaningful relationships, experience joy, persevere through challenges, and become thoughtful, compassionate young people. We want them prepared not only for the next grade, but for what comes next in life.

Families are essential to making that possible. You know your children deeply: their strengths, their stories, their needs, and the dreams you hold for them. We value that knowledge and believe our strongest work happens when school and home trust one another, communicate openly, and work together to help children flourish.

As Principal, I am committed to leading with compassion, integrity, and high expectations. I will work alongside our students, staff, families, and community to protect what makes P.S./M.S. 124 special while continuing to move our school forward.

Our words, “Be the Change. I Am the Change,” remind us that our students have ideas worth hearing, gifts worth developing, and the capacity to make a difference right now.
